RECAP: The Business of Women's Health 101 Session #1

The Six Core Pillars + YOUR EXCLUSIVE DISCOUNT expires Monday at Midnight EST

Hi Everyone,

Thank you to everyone who joined me today for The Business of Women’s Health 101. Whether you joined live or plan to catch the replay, I’m so glad you’re here—and I want to make sure you walk away with the main takeaways.

We spent the hour breaking down how the U.S. healthcare system actually works—and what makes the business of women’s health so unique. I shared the six core pillars that every leader, operator, or investor needs to understand to succeed in this space:

  1. The Ecosystem: Who the players are, how the system evolved, and where women’s health fits within the broader $4 trillion healthcare industry.

  2. Care Delivery: Who delivers care—from OB-GYNs and nurse practitioners to telehealth and pharmacies—and how care models shape cost and access.

  3. Money Flow: How reimbursement really works, who pays for care, and why understanding CPT codes, Medicaid, and the RUC Committee matters if we want to fix the system.

  4. Business Models & Funding: What makes Series A vs. Series C companies different to work for, how capital flows, and why valuations in women’s health still lag behind the rest of healthcare.

  5. Product & Marketing: How to build and market responsibly in a category still constrained by privacy, data, and advertising bias.

  6. Regulation & Policy: How decisions made by CMS, NIH, FDA, and Congress ripple downstream—and why bipartisan policy is our next big lever for change.

One of my favorite moments was when we talked about why the average OB-GYN visit is only seven minutes long. It’s not because your doctor doesn’t care—it’s because the system underpays women’s health procedures. That’s what reimbursement reform is really about, and it’s one of the biggest levers we can pull to fix the system.

We also talked about how women’s health isn’t just reproductive health. It’s heart disease, Alzheimer’s, mental health, menopause, fertility, and so much more—and every part of that ecosystem needs builders, investors, and advocates who understand how the system works.

At the end of the day, the business of women’s health isn’t about charity. It’s about understanding the economics well enough to change the incentives—and rebuild a system that finally works for women.

The next Women’s Health Mini MBA starts November 4th. We go deep into each of these pillars with guest speakers like Gina Bartasi, Colleen Foster, and Trish Costello—and you’ll walk away fluent in the business language of women’s health, ready to make real impact.

If you’re serious about building your career or company in this space, this is where you start.

💡 Big Takeaway

“Understanding the business of women’s health isn’t just about knowing how care is delivered—it’s about understanding how money, policy, and incentives flow through the system. Until we change those levers, we can’t truly change outcomes for women..”

-Jodi Neuhauser

At the end of the conversation we shared how you can go deeper with us on all of these topics with the Women’s Health Mini-MBA. This is quickly becoming the gold-standard of education for the women’s health ecosystem.
