In Women's Health | December 3

Jobs from CoFertility, Every Mother Counts, Flo, Elvie, Twentyeight Health, Tia and more!

Andddd….we’re back. Welcome to our 150+ new readers - we are glad you are here!

If you’re newer here — I’ll give a quick rundown of what we’re all about.

I’m Jodi Neuhauser, a 3x & VC-backed founder in women’s health. Those experiences taught me how much the right talent accelerates businesses. They also demonstrated how desperate our industry is for a place to connect and develop talent so that our entire ecosystem can innovate faster. So I started In Women’s Health - the only talent connection and development platform for careers in women’s health (broadly defined as any company that improves the lives of women).

I send out this newsletter once a week to share the latest opportunities I’ve heard about in women’s health over the last 7-10 days. Within that time frame, I post everything else on our private Slack community.

In this market, speed + network matters in your job search.

Most recruiters are getting 300-500 applications in the first 24-48 hours. With this many candidates, recruiters are often closing off job applications within the first 24-48 hours.

If you are currently working in women’s health or looking for your first women’s health role, consider joining our In Women’s Health’s private membership platform. For $59/month you’ll get:

  • Access to the industry’s most up-to-date job board with 100+ women’s health companies

  • Access to our private Slack community with up-to-date jobs, interview info and more

  • Access to our Talent Academy including our StrengthsMultiplier Assessment and cohort-based group leadership trainings

  • Virtual and live insider events with tangible content

  • 1:1 AI-based jobs and networking matching

This week our members got some great insider tips from Sara Weathington, Founding Recruiter at Turquoise Health. In the next few weeks we’re going to hear from recruiters from Carrot Fertility, Maven and more.

  • This week we:

    • Matched 44 members to jobs on our jobs board with our AI-based talent matching tool

    • Had 2 members get a new job

    • Posted over 100+ new jobs on our job board

    • Helped 15+ people with insider connections and contact info

    • Got inside advice from a seasoned recruiter

    • Helped 36 people set up email job alerts

We reviewed multiple In Women’s Health member resumes yesterday in our bi-weekly networking session, alongside Maggie Ruvoldt, a 25+year HR veteran and current Chief Human Resources Officer (and IWH member). Here are a few tips that stood out:

  • It’s ok to push your resume to 2 pages these days (but not more…)

  • If your education section does go to your second page and you have an advanced degree, make sure to mention this in your summary on page 1

  • A personal tidbits section will be important for smaller companies and startups, but isn’t needed for larger companies.

  • You may want to think about removing your address from your resume, especially if you are looking for remote jobs

  • Make sure to include an active link to your LinkedIn profile

  • Have enough white space to make it easier to read and scan quickly

  • Use formatting tricks to get important info to stand out

  • And the never-gets-old advice of make sure to use data to show impact and start each bullet with an action verb.

See you out and about in the ecosystem. I appreciate you.

xxJodi
