💰 How Did 30+ People Get a Job in Women’s Health?

I’ve been talking to a lot of members of our In Women’s Health community and the Women’s Health Mini-MBA program.

Right now, it feels so hard to break into women’s health — but we regularly have members of our community who do — for both executive levels and entry level roles.

Of the 30+ people we have helped get a job in women’s health so far, they all followed a similar process. Each of them:

  1. Built their network

    • They followed a deliberate process to build their network in the women’s health ecosystem by creating levels for targets and making it a daily habit.

  2. Learned about themselves and their unique value add

    • They didn’t go to market as a generalist. They did the self-introspection required to understand what their unique value add (UVA) is to a company.

  3. Designed their role

    • Then they matched that UVA to a role in women’s health so that they had a target function to focus on.

  4. Got discovered

    • They had a robust content strategy to demonstrate impact, establish credibility, showcase their expertise, build their reputation and get discovered — especially on LinkedIn.

  5. Told their story

    • They knew how to tell their story in every type of “room” with their 1-2 sentence descriptor, their 30-second pitch and their longer-form story.

  6. Found open roles

    • They used their network, smart searching strategies online and industry job boards to find open roles.

  7. Got an interview

    • Their resume was easy to skim in 6-seconds, clearly demonstrating the impact they could make in a company so they quickly got put in the “interview” pile.

  8. Interviewed with impact

    • Once they got the interview, they talked in-context about their experience, what they learned from that experience and how it applied to the role they were interviewing for.

  9. Negotiated their role

    • They asked for what they wanted. They negotiated for compensation, budget, resources, and support.

  10. Set themselves up for success

    • They went in with a 90-day success plan that outlined what they needed to learn and who they needed to add to their network to be successful in their role. They also started thinking about what’s next after this role.

And most importantly, they didn’t search alone. They also prioritized community and their emotional health through the entire process.

Over the last year since leaving Ovaterra, I’ve interviewed for seven C-level positions in women’s health, so in addition to members of our community, I have lots of experience to share.

Come join us for a FREE hour-long session where I’ll share the insights I’ve learned in my own process as well as what we’ve learned from the 30+ people In Women’s Health who have gotten a role in our ecosystem.

We’re doing 3 different sessions to accommodate multiple US and International Time Zones:

Friday August 9th - 12pm EST

Wednesday August 14th - 4pm EST

Monday August 19th - 11am EST
